Travancore Chess Club is organizing Vacation Chess Classes in March, April & May for children in the age group of 5 to 18 years at our Pattom, Neyyattinkara & Peringammala centres. There will 3 hours of classes on all weekdays for four weeks at stretch.
Admissions for March batches start from 2nd March. Classes start from 20th March.
There will be classes from Monday to Friday from 10 AM to 1 PM at Pattom and from 4:30 PM to 6 PM at Neyyattinkara. At Peringammala, the classes are from 4:30 PM to 6 PM on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Of course yes! We teach Chess from the very basics and our trainers have tons of patience.
TCC Summer Chess Camps are ideally suited for children in the age group of 5 to 18. However, in exceptional cases we may admit children outside this age group.

We charge a nominal Rs. 20/- per hour to meet the trainers fee. The total duration of the course is 60 hours, spread over 4 weeks. This works out to Rs. 1200/- for a month.
As a promotional offer, the course fee for the batches in Neyyattinkara is only Rs. 600/- for the month long vacation camp.
The training is handled by Anand J S, Leo W V Tinto, Ajessh M S and Ananthu Gopan. All the trainers have over 7 years of coaching experience under the guidance of Sreekumar Parameswaran, former State Champion.
No! We have enough Chess sets at both our centres. You need to bring a notebook, pen, water bottle and snack or lunch boxes from home.

Travancore Chess Club operates out of two centres in Trivandrum District. The first one at Marappalam, Pattom in Trivandrum City and the second at Alummoodu in Neyyattinkara. Besides these two main centres, TCC also functions out of an additional centre in Peringamala.

Yes. We have child-safe, reasonably clean, attached toilets at the venue.
Yes, you do not have to remove your chappals as you enter the hall. Just make sure that they are clean as you enter!
Yes, may be for the first few days, until you get comfortable with the surroundings.
They would need to park their car on the adjoining main street. We do not have parking space at the venue.

Yes. Depending on your progress in April, our trainers will teach you more advanced topics in May.
Yes. We are flexible! Please discuss your schedule with our trainers and make suitable arrangements.
Yes. Students in our regular weekend batches can continue their Chess training during the weekends even during the vacations. Additionally, they could come and attend the vacation classes also, if they so desire!
Travancore Chess Club provides regular Chess coaching to intermediate and advanced players. Depending on your time schedule, you could choose one of the three slots (morning, afternoon or evening) during the weekends to get expert training and advance in your Chess career.
If you are unable to solve this and do not understand the nuances of positions such as this, you must seriously consider enrolling yourself in the TCC Summer Chess Camp and learn the fundamentals.
